INTRO LESSON FLIGHT PACKAGE

This is the first step to becoming a glider pilot. Any of our ride options can be used to take the Hollister Gliding Club half-day introductory glider pilot course for one student. The frequency of their half-day courses is based on student demand which varies depending on the time of year. There are typically 2-3 students per instructor in their courses. Along with a one-hour ground class each student will have a glider preflight orientation, and then take a flight lesson with their instructor. The duration of the flight lesson will be the same as our scenic ride options. While the one student is flying with the instructor the other students will train with the flight line crew to learn safe ground handling and launching procedures.

Our $399 ride options can also be used to take a private 2-hour introductory lesson and can be scheduled anytime. This includes a private 45 minute ground lesson, and about an hour of flight training. Students are welcome to hang around before or after their private introductory lesson to train with the flight line crew.

Just let us know when you call to schedule that you would like the introductory lesson option with the Hollister Gliding Club and we will set it up for you. A glider pilot's log book, training manual and 3-month membership in the Soaring Society of America are included with the introductory lessons.

Passenger:
1 passenger only. (Passenger weight limit up to 350 pounds.)

Lesson Duration:
Choice of a private session or a half-day course. Flight time will be based on the ride option you choose. Please see scenic ride options for flight durations.
